EGI Isopach Privacy Policy

EGI Isopach Data Services applications are products of the Energy & Geoscience Institute (EGI) at the University of Utah. EGI has written this Policy to explain our commitment to your privacy when interacting with the EGI Isopach Data Services website or when using EGI Isopach Data Services applications. This Policy governs the EGI Isopach Data Services website and any EGI Isopach Data Services application published by EGI.

All information collected by EGI Isopach will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, rented, traded, loaned or otherwise disclosed. EGI Isopach does not sell, share, or otherwise disclose any personally identifiable information (PII), including your name, address or email address, or employer, to any third parties. Only EGI Isopach or authorized agents have access to PII provided by visitors to our site or by registered EGI Isopach users.

Collection of PII on our website

You confidentiality and privacy are important to us, so we collect as little information from you as possible. However, we collect some PII that you must provide to us on our website so that you can gain access to EGI Isopach applications. We collect your:

• Name
• Employer
• Email address
• Password generated by you

You provide information to us when you sign up to use EGI Isopach or when you contact EGI Isopach. We do not collect this information from you unless you provide it to us. We do not collect other information from you, including other PII, special category PII, or information about your browser or operating system.

We will never (and will not allow any third party to) use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any PII of visitors to our site.

Collection of PII within EGI Isopach applications

We only collect user login and logout information for when you access an EGI Isopach application, including your email and password. We do not collect information about the data you access, the queries you run, or other ways that you interact with or use EGI Isopach applications.

Use of PII

We use your name, employer, and email address that you provide to us to create a registered user account so that you may access EGI Isopach applications. You must provide us with this information to create a user account and access EGI Isopach applications.

We also use your name, employer, and email address that you provide to us when you use our contact form. We use this information to process your request.

iCORDS does not use PII for any other purposes besides those stated in this section. We never share or sell any information that you provide us with third parties.

EU General Data Protection Regulation

This section applies only to information collected from EGI Isopach users or visitors in the European Economic Area. The University of Utah has published a GDPR Privacy Notice. The notice explains how the university meets its obligations under the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

EGI Isopach collects and uses only the categories of PII and other data described in this Policy, and only for the purposes stated in this Policy. PII collected and processed through EGI Isopach is necessary to authenticate users and validate that users are employed by EGI Isopach subscribers.

Security

EGI Isopach has security measures in place to protect against the loss or misuse of PII. Although we will make every effort to keep your information secure and private, there is always some risk in providing PII over the Internet.

Updates to this Policy

We may periodically update this Policy. Changes become effective once posted. Your continued use of the EGI Isopach website or EGI Isopach applications indicates you consent to the terms of this Policy.
