Dr. Sudeep Kanungo Selected for AAAS Fellowship in the U.S. Department of Energy

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has bestowed a 2022-23 Science & Technology Policy Fellowship (STPF) to Dr. Sudeep Kanungo. Dr. Kanungo will serve in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Since 1973, the AAAS Fellowships program has provided scholars with unique public service professional development opportunities, building bridges between academia and government to serve society. The highly competitive program selects fellows from a nationwide pool of applicants and fellowship candidates must hold a doctorate in a science or engineering field. This AAAS fellowship in DOE is an honor for EGI and the University of Utah.

The STPF fellowship program is tenable for a maximum period of 2 years, starting on September 1st, 2022 in Washington, D.C. Dr. Kanungo’s placement is with the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO) in DOE, where he will work on projects related to geothermal energy technology implementation in the U.S. Department of Defense. EGI extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Kanungo on this achievement.
