EGI’s Alastair Fraser to be Honored by the Geological Society of London


EGI extends our warmest congratulations to Professor Alastair Fraser, EGI Chair in Petroleum Geoscience at Imperial College London for recognition by The Petroleum Group of the Geological Society of London for his significant contributions to the petroleum industry and excellence in geoscience research.

The Petroleum Group annually makes awards to individuals within the hydrocarbon sector in recognition of exceptional achievements or talents. Professor Fraser will receive the Petroleum Group Medal Award at the annual Geological Society of London Petroleum Group event in June 2015.

Petroleum Group Medal Award

The Petroleum Group Medal (formerly Silver Medal) is a yearly award presented to individuals with a geoscience background who have made outstanding contributions to the petroleum industry. It can be awarded for excellence in petroleum geoscience and/or management of oil-finding activities. The winner will be presented with the medal at the Petroleum Group Annual Dinner in June 2015.

Previous Medal award winners include Advisory Board Member, Malcolm Brown (2011) and former EGI AB Member, Roy Franklin (2006) and our esteemed Corporate Associate colleague Tony Doré (2007).
