EGI Oceans Poster Honored for Outstanding Scientific Contribution

This past autumn, Dr. Sudeep Kanungo and the EGI Oceans team were honored with Best Poster Award for outstanding scientific contribution at the 15th Houston Geological Society (HGS-PESGB) Africa Conference (September 12-14, 2016). The team’s poster, titled “Refinements to Chronostratigraphy of the Cretaceous Oceanic Anoxic Events in the Southern South Atlantic Ocean – Comparison of 6 DSDP Sites,“ was awarded best in the professional (non-student) category for its content and presentation.

As one of the most technically focused conferences in the energy industry, the PESGB African E&P Conference is among the best of its kind. Given the scope of this Conference, which alternates yearly between Houston and London, it offers an unparalleled opportunity to share knowledge and expertise in research vital to African continent E&P. The Conference is widely attended by the most highly respected technical staff from companies doing business in Africa, as well as African government representatives and industry contractors.

Learn more about EGI Oceans’ current research in the South Atlantic (I 01276) and Central and North Atlantic (I 01229) in our current research pages, and how exploration and drilling programs can make use of Chronostratigraphic Applications of the Composite Standard Database to gain competitive advantages in decision making in an exploration or production setting, related to conventional or low-permeability reservoirs.

Congratulations go to Dr. Kanungo and the entire EGI Oceans team for their excellent achievements in representing EGI’s professional and technical expertise at such an extraordinary venue.
