Dr. Shu Jiang Appointed Research Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah
In recognition of EGI Senior Research Scientist and Coordinator for China Program Dr. Shu Jiang’s long-standing accomplishment in promoting scientific collaborations between China and EGI, the Department of Chemical Engineering, and other institutes of the University of Utah, Dr. Shu Jiang was recently appointed as Research Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Utah. This new faculty member appointment in Chemical Engineering will further facilitate already extensive collaborations on geology and engineering research between EGI, the Department of Chemical Engineering (especially the M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering program), and Chinese research institutes, companies, and government organizations. It will also help companies, research institutes, and government organizations connect through EGI’s platform and tackle challenging problems in the search for and development of energy resources. Previously, Dr. Jiang was awarded Adjunct Professor at China University of Geosciences at Wuhan and China University of Petroleum at Qingdao and was honored for his contribution to the scientific collaboration between the U.S. and China.
Since the mid-1970s, EGI has accumulated vast knowledge from exploration to production based on years of research on conventional to unconventional reservoirs in China, Africa, South America, North America, India, Europe, Australia and others, which will help apply science from global research to China’s oil and gas exploration.
EGI extends our warmest congratulations to Dr. Jiang on this exceptional accomplishment and we look forward to many more years of scientific collaboration with our friends and partners in China.
